Cleaning the surface and looking after the joints are related jobs. If your block paving needs both, ask for driveway or patio cleaning and re-sanding in the same enquiry so the full scope can be assessed.
What does the cleaning cover?
The driveway service covers the surface, edges and joints, with weeds and moss lifted out and staining assessed. Tell Prime Shine whether the area is a driveway, path, patio or a combination. A rough size helps, but it can be measured on the visit.
A clean does not re-lay sunken blocks or repair the base beneath them. Flag uneven areas or loose blocks so these can be distinguished from dirt and growth before a price is agreed.
When should I ask about re-sanding?
If the paving has sand-filled joints, ask the team to check whether they need replenishing after cleaning. Prime Shine offers fresh kiln-dried sand brushed into suitable joints. Whether and when it is appropriate depends on the paving and its condition.
In the form, choose driveway cleaning or patio cleaning, then select re-sanding or re-grouting in the next step. If you are unsure which treatment suits the joints, choose “Tell me more on the visit”. Use the job notes to explain what is in the joints now: sand, cement or mortar, or very little material.
How is patio re-grouting different?
The spaces between paving slabs may use a jointing material rather than loose sand. Prime Shine can assess the existing joints and quote for suitable re-grouting or jointing work. The material is chosen for the actual surface, rather than treating every patio like block paving.
Full repair where the underlying base has failed is outside the cleaning and jointing scope. If slabs move, joints have broken away or the area holds water, mention that in your notes so the visit can address what is and is not included.
What to include in your enquiry
An overall photo shows the size and layout; a close-up shows the joints. Ask for the clean and any finishing work to be included in the quote. No online price is generated: the free visit establishes a price for your property, with no obligation to proceed.
Is re-sanding automatically included in a driveway clean?
Ask for it to be included and have the joints checked during the quote visit. The cleaning and any re-sanding are agreed as part of the scope, so you know what the price covers.
