Patio cleaning

Patio cleaning across Rhyl, Prestatyn and Abergele

Slabs, flags and block-paved patios, including the joints and the edges. Furniture and pots moved out of the way and put back where they were.

A front patio after pressure washing, the paving slabs back to a clean pale buff colour.

Different slabs want different treatment

Indian sandstone. Porous, and it holds black spot lichen that a jet alone will not shift. It wants treating rather than blasting harder, which is the mistake that leaves sandstone pitted and blotchy.

Porcelain. Almost non-porous, so the dirt is on the surface and comes off easily. The joints are the slow part.

Concrete slabs and flags. Straightforward, and the most likely to be carrying rust staining from whatever has been standing on them.

Black spot is not dirt

Those small black circles that will not scrub off are lichen, and they are rooted into the surface. Pressure alone takes the top off and leaves the root, so it returns within weeks. It has to be treated to be gone.

Common questions

Will the black spots come off?

They are lichen, not dirt, and they are rooted in. They need treating rather than more pressure. We will tell you honestly on the visit how much will come off.

Do you move the furniture?

Yes. Furniture and pots get moved out of the way and put back where they were.

Do you re-grout afterwards?

On a flagged patio the pointing between slabs is a separate job we can quote for. On block-paved patios it is re-sanding.
