A patio can have several problems at once: green growth, dark spots, general grime and weeds between the slabs. Describe what you can see rather than trying to identify a treatment yourself.
Black spots need an assessment
Black spotting on paving can be lichen rather than ordinary dirt. The material and the cause of the marks affect the approach. Prime Shine assesses the surface during the quote visit and explains what improvement is realistic.
Tell the team whether the patio is sandstone, concrete, porcelain, block paving or another material if you know. Avoid assuming that every dark mark will disappear or that increasing the pressure will solve it.
Green growth and the rest of the patio
Mention where the green growth is: across the slabs, on steps, along the edges or between joints. Include connecting paths if you want them priced too. This helps define the area to be cleaned instead of leaving small sections out of the quote.
If there is timber decking next to the patio, select decking as an additional service. The method is matched to the boards rather than assumed to be the same as the paving beside them.
Check the joints as well as the surface
A patio clean and repairs to its joints are separate parts of the scope. Ask about re-grouting for slab joints or re-sanding for suitable block paving. Broken slabs and failed underlying bases are not repaired by washing the surface.
Photograph a representative patch of staining and one area of the joints. An overall view is useful too. If you cannot add photos, you can still complete the enquiry and explain the problem in words.
